this was a magical weekend. i met my dear new york friend miya ando. her exhibition at the „eastwest project“ in berlin kreuzberg was a huge success. on the day after the opening, we went to the lawn in front of the reichstag and miya created the fourth piece in her 'i'm beautiful night' series of invisible luminous works. 'i'm beautiful night' [sakura reichstag] was a temporary public outdoor installation done with invisible luminous paint and comprised of tiny cherry blossom paintings on the snow. the paintings were invisible in the daylight and luminous for only a fleeting moment in the darkness. this work of art will disappear as the snow melts, as people walk on the 'field' of cherry blossoms.

miya and i have decided to collaborate on a regular basis in germany and the u.s., beginning in april. can`t wait.

das bild oben ist vor einer woche entstanden. an exakt der gleichen stelle im düsseldorfer hafen, wo ich vor fast 20 jahren mein erstes modefoto gemacht habe. damals war ich mit dem model allein; letzte woche stand ein 8-köpfiges team hinter mir. auch ansonsten hat sich viel verändert. nur mein stil nicht. zum glück.

the image above was taken a week ago. in exactly the same spot at duesseldorf harbor where i took my first fashion picture almost 20 years ago. back then i was alone with the model; last week, a team of 8 stood behind me. much has changed in every respect. except for my style. fortunately.

das jahr hat gut angefangen. mit diversen mode-produktionen, deren vorläufiger höhepunkt am vergangenen wochenende stattfand. bei gefühlten 10 grad minus durfte ich dank eines wunderbaren teams mein faible für die inszenierte street photography ausleben. im moment suche ich aus und kann mich dabei ganz entspannt zurücklehnen, weil die ergebnisse genial sind. soviel eigenlob muss jetzt mal sein. beweise gibt es später.

the year has started very well. with several fashion productions, the most interesting of which took place last weekend. it felt like minus 10 degrees celsius and i was allowed to act out my love for staged street photography again - thanks to the wonderful team i worked with. at the moment, i do the editing and i am really relaxed. because the results are brilliant. so much for self praise. proofs later.
